About Garden Planner
A free, friendly way to plan a garden that actually grows.
What it is
Garden Planner is a free, drag-and-drop tool for designing a vegetable garden. You lay out beds, drop in the plants you want to grow, and see how everything fits together. Along the way it suggests good companion pairings, flags plants that would rather not sit next to each other, and builds a planting calendar around your location's frost dates so you know when to sow and when to transplant.
There is nothing to install and nothing to buy. Your garden is saved right in your browser, so you can close the tab and come back to it later.
Who it is for
We built Garden Planner for the first-time grower staring at an empty patch of dirt, the balcony gardener working with a few containers, and the seasoned gardener who just wants a tidy way to map out next season. If you have ever sketched a garden on the back of a seed packet, this is that sketch, made a little smarter.
Our mission
Growing your own food should feel welcoming, not intimidating. Our goal is to take the guesswork out of the planning stage, the spacing, the timing, the “can these two grow side by side?” questions, so you can spend more time with your hands in the soil and more of your harvest on the table. We keep the tool free and simple on purpose, because a good garden plan shouldn't be locked behind a paywall.
